Yogurt Guide

Are They All the Same?
Recently Men's Fitness Magazine did a study on Yogurt. Using Strawberry as a constant between the different brands they rated some of the more common choices of the supposed low calorie, lower-carb "healthy.
Here is some of their findings from best to worst
1. Yoplait Light Fat Free
Calories:133 Protein 7g Carbs:25g Fat 0g Fiber 0g
Color and Appearance:small but obviousley real chunks of berry in a thich, custardlike yogurt base.
Taste: Rich and creamy - but not overly sugary. Similar, in fact, to a mixture of melted strawberry and vanilla ice cream.
2.Colombo Light
Calories:120 Protein 7g Carbs:21g Fat 0g Fiber 0g
Color and Appearance: Almost ideal. Colombo earns bonus points for the big chunks of fruit and its thick, creamy texture.
Taste: Slightly bitter and a tad disappointing, based on how good it looked. Comparable to strawberry flavored skim milk.
3.Yoplait Healthy Heart
Calories: 240 Protein: 7g Carbs: 47g Fat: 2g Fiber: 0g
Color and Appearance: Like a freshly blended smoothie, right down to the pulverized bits of real fruit
Taste: Fresh and creamy, with a hint of butter but no cloying aftertaste. It loses points, however, for being so high in calories.
4. Dannon Light'N Fit Carb & Sugar Control
Calories:120 Protein: 10g Carbs: 6g Fat: 6g Fiber: 0g
Color and Appearance: Like the yogurt you'd see in a breakfast salad bar - ordinary and inoffensive
Taste: Virtually flavorless. Seriously, it tastes like nothing at all - except for the bitter tang of an artificial sweetener.
5.Dannon Light'N Fit with Fiber
Calories:140 Protein: 8g Carbs: 26g Fat: 0g Fiber: 6g
Color and Appearance: Radioactive pink (similar to Pepto-Bismol) and completely devoid of fruit.
Taste: Although we appreciate the fiber, it left the yogurt grainy-tasting with a powerful Kool-Aid-like after-kick.
6. Stonyfield Farm All Natural Fat Free
Calories:173 Protein: 8g Carbs: 35g Fat: 0g Fiber: 3g
Color and Appearance: Oddly brown - like it was made with dried or rotten fruit.
Taste: Terrible. Like amixture of cottage cheese and glue, with dirt-encrusted berries stirred in. But maybethat's what makes it organic.
