30 Minute Fitness: Understanding Aerobic and Strength Benefits

Importance of Proper Exercise
by Will Praht
In order to assure a healthy and well balanced body it is critical to incorporate some form of properly performed exercise routine into your daily regimen. The introduction of such a routine, combined with a healthy eating plan, will enhance your lifestyle and increase your energy for a continually faster moving society.
When proper exercise is present in either aerobic, strength training or a combination of both (which is the ideal situation) you will reap many of their benefits. The following is a list of some of those benefits:

AEROBIC EXERCISE BENEFITS:

  • Works to build up and strengthen your heart muscles and bones
  • Increases the oxygen levels to not only your lungs but your circulatory system also. By breathing deeply our lungs absorb larger amounts of oxygen allowing for the oxygenation of the blood through absorption. Oxygen is one of the most important nutrients for our bodies and deep breathes allow us to oxygenate properly.
  • The most popular reason people tend to add more aerobic exercise to their regimen is it breaks into our fat stores in order to fuel the aerobic activity we are doing, thus decreasing our stores of fat.
  • As we continue to practice aerobic activities our resistant levels rise giving us greater endurance for these activities and similar everyday activities, such as climbing stairs or keeping up with the kids.
  • Lymphatic system is activated draining and circulating the fluids which help increase our immunity to disease
  • Sweating helps to detoxify the body of impurities that have built up in our system which in turn also benefits the look and feel of your skin.
  • Aerobic activities on a regular basis will help strengthen our muscles and increase our flexibility.
  • More and more studies being released show aerobic activities decrease the risk of heart disease.
  • Helps lower the over all cholesterol level while increasing the levels of HDL or good cholesterol.
  • Improves the overall level of sustained endurance by the cardiovascular system.
  • Helps to decrease our blood pressure and possibility of stroke Helps pronounce and define our overall muscle tone. This occurs due to the fat stores around the muscle being depleted as we work plus the increase in muscle work to the long twitch muscle fibers.
  • In most studies a overall decrease of stress can be felt while a overall energetic level and energy take over giving us more productive non-workout time.
STRENGTH TRAINING BENEFITS:

  • Builds muscle which increase the metabolic rate of your body. Muscle takes more maintenance and uses the stores of fat for longer periods of time by breaking them down and feeding the repair of the muscle. Thus you increase your metabolism, thus burning fat for longer periods of time.
  • Helps to increase the rate of fat loss our body creates through the same process as the aforementioned metabolic rate.
  • Increases the ability of our bodies to perform physically demanding work, through added strength, and muscle.
  • Not only builds muscle strength but also tendon and ligament strength, once again increasing our ability to do demanding routines.
  • Study after study continue to show that regular resistance training programs help build bone density and strength even in the very old. Also very good for those trying to fight off the possibility of osteoporosis.
  • Increases the body’s co-ordination and balance abilities, especially through core training routines.
  • Increases the overall mood levels of most regular workout people, some attribute this to serotonin release through exercise.
  • Proven in many studies to increase the overall brain function, clear the cobwebs to an extent. Probably due to the increased circulation due to exercise.
  • Helps boost our stamina levels, energy levels and our ability to last (endurance levels)
Combining the two strategies (with stretching) provides for a superior and beneficial full body workout. Whether your looking for large weight loss, or simple maintenance, toning or strength, whatever your reason combining a program with these 2 elements will give you the energy, health and stamina you need for everyday living.
Remember to warm up before starting any type of workout. You can walk to get the juices flowing or stretch, if you’re not inclined to do these start your workouts at a low level until you have warmed up the muscles to be worked and then proceed with your workout. At the end of your workout reverse the process to acclimate your body back to normal. Do not just abruptly stop which may promote tightening because you haven’t loosened the muscle back out. This procedure will also help you combat the amount of soreness you normally experience after exercise and will help prevent the possible muscle strains and pulls.
Proper exercise makes us the machines we were meant to be, rather than rusting bodies. Increased activity helps with metabolism, weight control, strength, immune system, disease and much more, how can you afford to not workout. Get out there and give it a try and see just how great life can really be.
